Occupy Congress Collected Donations

Occupy Congress collected donations that we used to fund our January 17th protest at the U.S. Capitol, and we plan to continue to collect donations to be used in mobilizing people to New York and Chicago for two big upcoming protests this Spring. On this page you will find detailed information on how much we’ve collected, what we’ve spent it on, and who donated to us. We hope that this transparency of funding can set an example for Congress.

The information below was compiled by Occupy Congress to provide insight into the voting records, campaign funding, and term lengths of all 435 members of the House of Representatives in Congress.

Our goal is to expose how each congressperson voted on key pieces of legislation, and how their campaign contributors and personal net worth influenced their votes.

This is a non-partisan initiative meant to question whether our representatives truly represent us, the people.

Financial Crisis Reveals Hopelessly Enslaved

For a free society to function in any capacity there has to be transparency of and access to information, as well as a set of rules that are applied equally to everyone. Our society has chosen not to hold those responsible for the financial meltdown accountable. This is destroying our society economically by stopping access to transparent information and is destroying our society socially by not applying the laws equally to everyone. Economists and others can attest to the languishing of our society in this financial quicksand so this commentary focuses on the social side of the scandal.

This blatant and overwhelming example of selective application of the judicial system forces even the most optimistic citizen to recognize that we now live in a society of the few unaccountable privileged and the many to which justice applies. Of course this didn’t happen overnight, but this state of our union has reached a tipping point now. For example, the Savings and Loan scandal of the 1980s did at least result in an application of the law to put at least 800 white collar criminals in prison. In just a couple of decades we can certainly detect a significant increase in the protection of the privileged class from the justice system. At this point it is difficult to imagine a scenario under which a group of persons within this class would be held accountable by the law. The justice system no longer applies to the few unaccountable privileged in our society.

The social destruction that this is causing to our society is one of despair. When people feel like the societal structure is unjust, unfair or “rigged”, they lose respect for it, withdraw from participating in it and simply don’t care about their communities or others. Once it becomes clear that we do not live in a free society of opportunity, but instead, one in which the privileged elite decide the rules to the game and to whom those rules apply, citizens do not have any reason to hold onto hope.

Just recently (in the context of human history) humanity challenged corrupt authority and introduced the concept of respect for the individual. From this was born the societal constructs of a republic and a democracy with unprecedented economic and social equality and mobility. We are the descendents of these great innovators and can choose to allow this to go down in history as a failed experiment in human society or we can choose to continue its existence with necessary structural adjustments.

Although our society has been hijacked by these few privileged elite, we do still have individual rights and with those historically-important responsibilities. Let’s be clear that the status quo is not an option. We didn’t get where we are today because we have always been like this. Our selective application of the judicial system and resulting immunity of the privileged class from justice has been a path our society has been following for decades. We can either continue along the current path or we can change course. Our society will not stay the way it is today.

Our political system is structured in such a way as to include money and influence as vital and integral components of the process. Any elected official on local or national levels is required to accept money to pay for activities that will get him/her elected. Anyone who has observed human nature knows that when a person receives money from another, they are beholden to that person. Not only does the person receiving feel an obligation, but the person giving has an expectation. With this indebtedness component built into the structure, how can we expect the political process to be anything other than skewed towards the interests of those with money? Why is money and influence built into the system to begin with? The structure of the political system is flawed and therefore, all decisions and actions resulting from that system are flawed. We have a duty and responsibility to change this structural flaw in our political system to avoid the disappearance altogether of our rare and historic free society.

Did you know that some members of Congress do not even live in the district they represent?

Politicians have set themselves up with special retirement that is superior to social security but the population has to pay for, plus we pay for their special pensions and special medical care which is separate and far superior to Medicare. All this stuff needs to go. Allowing politician to set themselves up like royalty, separate from we the people is criminal and insane.
And allowing them to give themselves privileges and raises for themselves is criminal and insane. It’s just another example of the wealthy robbing the poor. We need an amendment to stop these psychopaths.

I am trying to find documentation on this. Do you have a source?

Occupy Greensboro NC has officially endorsed an OGSO trip to Occupy Congress on Jan. 17, 2012

I strongly urge you to visit the http://www.awakenedhearts.com website and buy a book or ebook called The Code. This is a book God dictated to these channelers David and Celest telling us about the origins of the dark shadow forces that have deceived us on this planet for centuries. He also talks about our souls evolution. Below is a description of the book from amazon. I hope the information will be helpful to you. I think you should also look at the other information and books on the awakenedhearts.com website and pass it on to other members of the occupy movement. I believe the occupy movement is a big part of the evolutionary changes to rid the planet of these dark controllers.

Book description
The Code is an astonishing book. The presence of God is unmistakable as He reveals in-depth information of long-held secrets of the Illuminati’s origins and their plans for all the human races and for Terra as well. He offers detailed information explaining why He could only speak of these matters now. God effectively and neatly ties together each step a Soul takes on and off-world. He also reveals information heretofore unknown about Souls, their migrations, their interplanetary connections and how these connections interact with each race and the ways and means by which all Souls are watched over. He speaks very fluently and decisively in this book and makes it very clear to everyone that He will not brook any more complacency by people. He offers information about Soul Partnerships that occur here and off-world. God reveals information that no one here has been privy to before. God speaks very clearly and VERY determinedly in His quest to abide by the timeline He has been granted. This is the first time any of this information has been permitted to be revealed. The book is very moving, very intense and infinitely beautiful in the way that only God can write. ~ Celest and David ~ God’s introduction OK now, this is the part where I begin to explain some unknown but crucially important information to each of you. This is only part of the knowledge of certain events and actions that has long been withheld from you. The Lives you change along the way -Do you think it is possible for you as an individual to change someone’s life who may be thousands of miles away without ever meeting them? Uncivil Behavior -OK Children; in case I neglected to tell you before…do not expect Me to epitomize sweetness or to behave in any manner that can be construed as overly laidback in this book or the remaining books of this series. I Speak on War -War is an aphrodisiac for the mentally challenged and Spiritually deprived. Angels -I do not want any of you to walk into your new lives here without having properly assimilated information relative to true Earth history. Soul Partnerships -There comes a time in every person’s lifetime when they will be faced with the choice of either honoring the agreements they originally set into motion long before incarnating here on Earth, or they will choose to break or alter the agreement to pursue other ventures. Fanaticism and Ideology -The topics I have chosen for this particular codex are particularly important because of the causal impact they have had and will continue to have on you each as human beings. The Four Horsemen of the Global Conspiracy -I realize far better than you think I do that some topics I choose may be unpalatable to you, simply because I speak about issues that are difficult for you to bear. A Snapshot for Eternity -Prior to your scheduled departures from other realms to either the Earth Star planet or to another world, you are each sent many imagings which have been predetermined to be the ones to best assist you during your upcoming journeys. A Deterrent to the Preservation of the Realm -You see Children, because the soon-to-be true NEW nature of Terra will be unveiled for all Universes to see and rejoice with, I have decided that.. The Intent of Surveillance -In the defense and preservation of all of the realms We are responsible for, We who are the Creators, Co-Creators and Overseers of each Universe must always be aware of any changes within each and every movement of the realms and Universes. Machinations -OK now, since a part of My mission in these books is to further instill truth in your minds while continuing to have truth displace illusions, I see no reason for Me to stop now. Decoding the Code -Children, when you see the enemy and understand who and what it really is, then you can defeat it through sheer mind-thought. In MY situation, none of Us here can actively intervene or interfere here UNLESS We are specifically requested to do so..

As I begin, I think of the people of the Occupy Wall street movement, I think of all hard working people who have made this country great. I think of my Grandfathers struggle to bring the union to the coal mines of West Virginia. I hope and pray they accept me as one of their own and allow me to stand with them. GOD Bless You All.
For ten years I have been trying to expose the SEIU 1 Chicago Local Union for what I believe is fraud and corruption. I am attaching a copy of a SEIU Local 1 grievance form dated 15 May, 2002…Which I filed with the SEIU Union. I have marked this as (exhibit A) for your reference. The grievance written by union business agent John Zarris, states I have been required to work above my classification without being paid per the union contract, a contract which was agreed to between my employer, “Mid America management corp” and my union “SEIU local 1 Chicago”.
The complaint of the grievance was my employer required me to accept a 24 hour 7 days a week emergency call, required to respond within 20 minutes of page. Please note; Being in a Required Emergency call situation is NOT in the job description of my (Helper- A) classification as defined in the union contract.
After a six month wait, On 18 November, 2002 at my place of employment, I received a fax letter from SEIU local 1 union representative John Zarris. I am attaching a copy of this letter dated November 18, 2002. I have marked this as (exhibit B) for your reference…
The Fax from the SEIU 1 union representative John Zarris clearly states the union’s support of my grievance and states “should I have any problems with my employer regarding these matters, please call”. I was terminated within two hours of receiving this notification and the SEIU 1 union DID NOTHING to secure my job. It took Local 1 union rep John Zarris more than a week to return my many attempts and messages concerning my termination. On the phone with Union rep. John Zarris, I can’t explain my feeling when Mr. Zarris said “he was sorry for my termination, but there is nothing he can do to help me”. In shock, I said “that’s it! What am I supposed to do”, Mr. Zarris replied “Get yourself a good attorney” and ended the call. The SEIU refused any further contact with me.
I took the advice of union Rep. John Zarris and hired a Mr. Gary Abrams of Abrams and associate law offices, in downtown Chicago. After much money and many years later attorney Abrams informed me, I don’t have a case because I did not have a written agreement with “Mid America management corp”. Concerning my work responsibilities. I questioned attorney Abrams, “isn’t the union contract a written agreement”? Attorney Abrams informed me public policy takes precedent over the union contract, the level of proof needed, just wasn’t there, it’s a very complicated system” he said.

The president of SEIU “Mary Kay Henry” was on television a few weeks ago. Mrs. Henry Stated “If one person has been taken advantage of, then we all have been taken advantage of” Mrs. Henry inspired me. I would like to let Mrs. Henry know it is now official, We have all been taken advantage of.
The attached grievance form and letter from the SEIU 1 union Chicago speaks volumes by their self. I did nothing wrong, I filed a legitimate grievance; SEIU agreed with me, my employer had done wrong. In the end I was terminated for filing this grievance, my termination was nothing more than outright blatant cold hearted retaliation by Mid America management corp. As for SEIU Chicago, they ran and hid. If the SEIU Chicago union won’t stand up and protect a dues paying member who the union knows to be in the right, then the question must be ask, Just who is the union protecting. During most of my eleven years of employment with Mid America management corp. the president of the company sat on the board of trustees Of the Chicago SEIU local 1 union. I believe this is a conflict of interests and speaks right at one of the big issue of our time, corporate power and influence, greed, fraud, corruption. I am speechless; this is not the union my Grandfather envisioned so many years ago. This is not the kind of union the members of SEIU local 1 union deserve.

I realized the level of fraud and corruption in the Chicago SEIU must be rampant. I feel I must do something to stop what I believe is criminal action. I wish the people responsible flushed out and dealt with in accordance with the laws of the United States of America. We as people must besiege fraud and Corruption and destroy it anywhere it is found and we must do this for each other. Over the years I have made countless attempts to bring this to the attention of the proper authorities, but either no one is listening or no one cares. I believe where there is smoke there is fire, I believe my situation is the smoke that marks a big fire of fraud and corruption in the SEIU Chicago union that needs extinguished in the worst way. if any corporation is able to affect the final outcome of a labor grievance in this way, then collective bargaining is only an illusion.
I hope my union brothers and sisters of the past understand this is not an attack on them or the precept of the union. I believe I am due clarification, I believe we are all due clarification, if for no other reason than ensure it never happens to anyone again. Please stand with me and demand answers.

Thank You and GOD Bless America

We are a group of college students, with no finances for transportation. WE would love to join. If anyone is going through Texas, please send the caravan this way!

I would like to see a bill requiring each member of congress to be urine tested at least once a month. If they plan to waste our money drug testing the poor and unemployed, they should submit to the same plan. My opinion is, more of them will test positive than those they propose testing. The poor and unemployed do not have money for drugs.

Drug test all members of Congress. We pay their salaries and get little in return other than buffoonery and corruption and stalemates. Let’s see how many of them “indulge” while they point the finger at people who can’t even pay their rent.

Take to the streets. It’s our only hope

My name is Cynthia Prussok I reside in Washington State. I can not attend Occupy Congress but I will be there in spirit and watching on Livestream. It is my hope that the prescence of all those brave occupiers will spark a desire for true change in our Country. I have contacted my congresswoman Patty Murray and let her know about my concerns. This shoud be an epic event one that I am looking forward to.

Subject: Fix Congress
This has nothing whatsoever to do with politics. It has everything to do
with humanity.

No one has been able to explain to me why young men and women serve in the
U.S. Military for 20 years, risking their lives protecting freedom, and only
get 50% of their pay. While Politicians hold their political positions in
the safe confines of the capital, protected by these same men and women, and
receive full pay retirement after serving one term. It just does not make
any sense.

Monday we learned that the staffers of Congress family members are exempt
from having to pay back student loans. This will get national attention if
news networks will broadcast it. When you add this to the below, just where
will all of it stop?

This will take less than thirty seconds to read. If you agree, please pass
it on.

This is an idea that we should address. For too long we have been too
complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that
members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that
they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed
while citizens must live under those laws. The latest is to exempt
themselves from the Healthcare Reform… in all of its forms. Somehow, that
doesn’t seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly
don’t care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The
self-serving must stop.

If each person that receives this will forward it on to 20 people, in three
days, most people in The United States of America will have the message..
This is one proposal that really should be passed around.

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: “Congress shall
make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not
apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall
make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does
not apply equally to the citizens of the United States .”

We need to stop letting Congress fold to corporate money and influence. This is OUR country and we need to take back control. Unless you are one of the 10% of Americans who think Congress is doing a good job, WE THE PEOPLE need to vote them all out on 11-06-12!! occupycongress.me

Outlawing the Occupy Movement: Congress Makes Free Speech a Felony

COMMENTARY | What does rape, murder, and protesting the government all have in common? They are all felonies.

On February 28th 2012, Congress voted 399 to 3 in favor of H.R. 347, a bill which breezed through the Senate with unanimous consent and now lacks only President Obama’s signature to become law. The only three representatives who voted against the bill were Paul Broun (R-GA), Justin Amash (R-MI) and Ron Paul (R-TX).

Euphemistically titled the “Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act” and referred to by our corporate-controlled mainstream media as a “non-controversial bill,” a more truthful moniker for H.R. 347 would be the “First Amendment Rights Eradication Act.” As Representative Amash lamented on his Facebook page:

“Current law makes it illegal to enter or remain in an area where certain government officials (more particularly, those with Secret Service protection) will be visiting temporarily if and only if the person knows it’s illegal to enter the restricted area but does so anyway. [H.R. 347] expands current law to make it a crime to enter or remain in an area where an official is visiting even if the person does not know it’s illegal to be in that area and has no reason to suspect it’s illegal… [And to] show you the extent to which the public is misled and misinformed about the legislation we are voting on, read one prominent media outlet’s coverage of the same bill: http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-action/house/212873-house-approves-white-house-trespass-bill-sends-to-obama The report mischaracterizes not only current law but also the changes proposed by the bill.”

The full text of H.R. 347 is available here: www.govtrack.us/congress

Presidential candidate Rick Santorum being “glitter-bombed” by protestor.

Obviously aimed at the Occupy Movement, and the recent incidents of protestors “glitter-bombing” presidential candidates, this new law will seriously diminish the right of American citizens to petition their government for a redress of grievances by outlawing protests where key government officials or other VIP’s may be nearby. Federal law enforcement agents will be empowered to bring these charges against Americans engaged in political protests anywhere in the country, and violators will face criminal penalties that include imprisonment for up to 10 years.

If only Congress was this adamant about criminalizing Wall Street bankers…

Why Did Obama Relocate the G8 Summit?

COMMENTARY | On March 5th, President Obama surprised everyone when he announced that the upcoming G8 economic summit would be moved from Chicago to Camp David, a remote military base in rural Maryland.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, who personally lobbied President Barack Obama to host the NATO and G8 summits, was informed of the change only hours before the White House publicly made the announcement.

The last-minute change raised many eyebrows — and questions.

The idea of moving the G8 to Camp David was raised to the president a few weeks ago, a senior administration official said, adding that the president was intrigued by the novelty of the idea and asked staff whether they could pull off the change.

Adding to the curious nature of the White House announcement was the fact that Obama rarely spends time at his presidential retreat. And unlike many of his predecessors, Obama has never hosted a world leader at Camp David.

Obama told reporters Tuesday that G8 “tends to be a more informal setting where we talk about a wide range of issues in an intimate way” and that “people would enjoy being in a more casual backdrop.” Although this is Obama’s stated reason, in a survey we conducted among our Twitter and Facebook followers, 97% of those surveyed believe the real reason for changing the venue is the impending protests in Chicago.

Courtesy of FluidSurvey.com

Regardless of the reason for relocating the G8 Summit, the protests are going to happen in Chicago anyway because if protesters are upset about G8, they have just as much reason to be upset about NATO. Plans are also being made by Occupy Baltimore to bring protestors onto the camping grounds surrounding Camp David: http://occupybmore.org/event/occupy-g8-summit. There’s also been talks between Occupy Washington DC, Occupy Univ. of Maryland (UMD), and Occupy Congress of holding a summit of our own, called the G-99 summit.

Oh I am sure the G8 prefers to be in the middle of a forest rather than in one of the most entertaining cities in the world.

  • Les-Occupy Cinci

Don’t let them hide behind a military compound. Come to Occupy Camp David to demand transparency, accountability and genuine democracy; that the leaders of the world address the people, not hide in their private retreat. http://www.facebook.com/AttendTheG99

This may be a blessing in disguise. The so-called “Black Block” will not be able to vandalize Chicago or the Occupy Movement.
